The day of Adam's test to become part of the resistance had arrived. In the waiting area, Adam observed his fellow candidates, their muscular bodies exuding strength and confidence. Feeling a pang of self-doubt due to his smaller stature, Adam reminded himself of his determination and focused on the task ahead.
Just as the tension reached its peak, two girls, identical twins, entered the waiting area. Their authoritative presence commanded attention, and their announcement snapped everyone's focus to the impending challenge.
"In two minutes, the first test will begin," one of the twins declared. "Your task is to achieve the highest number of headshots on AI-simulated targets. These targets are programmed to retaliate with dummy guns and possess self-defense mechanisms."
As the description of the test concluded, a door opened behind the candidates, inviting them to step into the testing arena. With a surge of adrenaline, everyone filed through the door, ready to prove their mettle.
Inside, the candidates found themselves in a battle royale scenario, facing off against AI-simulated opponents. Each candidate had to eliminate a minimum of two opponents to advance to the next round.
The arena was filled with chaos as bullets whizzed through the air, and the sound of gunfire echoed throughout. Candidates utilized their skills, ducking, dodging, and taking precise shots to neutralize the aggressive AI targets.
As the intense battle raged on, the outcome varied for each candidate. Some showcased exceptional marksmanship, taking down multiple opponents with precision. Others struggled to land accurate shots, their aim faltering under pressure.
Eventually, the round came to an end, leaving the candidates catching their breath and reflecting on their performance. As the dust settled, it became clear that not everyone had met the minimum requirement. Five candidates, their aim falling short, were unfortunately rejected from advancing to the next round.
Adam, however, had managed to surpass expectations, securing three headshots during the fierce encounter. The sense of relief washed over him as he realized he had successfully advanced to the next stage of the test.
Escorted back to the waiting area, the remaining candidates, including Adam, took the opportunity to rest and recuperate. The room buzzed with a mixture of exhaustion, anticipation, and camaraderie.
Adam found solace in the fact that he had overcome the initial challenge, proving to himself and others that his determination and skills were not to be underestimated. He knew that the upcoming rounds would only intensify, but he was ready to face them head-on, fueled by the hope of becoming a member of the resistance.
As the candidates caught their breath, unaware of the trials yet to come, they exchanged knowing glances, recognizing the unpredictable nature of the tests that awaited them.
Resting in the waiting area, Adam's mind was consumed with thoughts of the next challenge, eager to prove himself once again and inch closer to his goal of joining the resistance.
